SAVE THE DATE!!    January 10-12, 2020 – Only 2 Weeks Away!!

We will reconvene for the 8th time Jan 10-12, 2020 in Little Blair Valley, Anza Borrego State Park.  Make your plans now and excuses why you just gotta go.  Come out Friday night and/or Saturday night.. whatever floats ur boat.  The theme this year is American Heroes..  There will be a Command Post with Service and Patriotic Flags. Due to popular demand, we will re-institute the opening ceremonies with an appropriate breaking of a Pinada.  The Command Post will feature a GEE-Dunk Bar and a Whiskey Station.  NO ONE SHOULD OVER INDULGE… Moderation is Manly!!  There will be the obligatory horse shoe competition, canned music, and live guitar pickin’ and grinnin’.
This is Bring your own everything! (Almost)  I will be bringing a Big Pot of BadAss Chili!.  Bring side dish stuff to share- enough for 4-5 others..  Saturday dinner main-dish will be Mikey’s FAMOUS TRI-TIP. Bring a little cash to contribute to the Kitty to defray the cost of all the Meat.  Also, bring paper plates, utensils, your drinks, snacks.  Please RSVP as soon as you can so “The Committee” knows how much Meat to bring!  Fruit and Pastries are needed for Breakfast if anyone wants to volunteer.
Weather will be brisk, so bring warm gear.  Folding Tables and Pops-Ups are needed, so bring em if you have em. BYOB.  If you have a Corn Hole game, bring it. If you have some decent firewood, bring it – please no “Garbage Wood”.
There will be hamburgers available for those coming out Friday, and Breakfast will be provided Sat. AM.  Sunday AM is leftovers, burritos, pastry and fruit.
Also available: Optional Saturday Hiking, Golf Shoot for the Bucket, and possibly Chess for your viewing pleasure. The John Strauch Hiking Society will be facilitating a hike on Sunday morning, January 12th for those who may be interested.
UPDATE: This is a PRIMITIVE CAMPING ENVIRONMENT, so bring your shovel and toilet paper  and anything else you think you need in a PRIMITIVE CAMPING environment.  There are a limited number of Large and Medium MANLY MEN TRUCK TRIP T-SHIRTS available for purchase, at 15.00.

THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT!

We’re back (again)..  Saddle up Cowboys, it’s time to Ride.. Save the Date: Jan 11-13, 2019..  Overnight Friday and Saturday, optional hike on Sunday the 13th.. on Friday the 11th (8 or 9 Cowboys coming out Friday/Overnight).. Franko is providing hamburgers for supper on Friday, so let us know if you can so he can plan the food for Friday night.

This year it’s “Let the Cowboys Ride”..  so bring your Cowboy Hat!

Menu thus far: Tri-Tip, , Corn Bread, Beans, Baked Potatoes, and Chili..  There will be a Kitty for Donations to reimburse Mikey for all the Tri-Tip, and ancillary items needed to produce that much Cowboy Meat!  Saturday breakfast will be pastries, eggs, bacon, cheese burritos.

Bring some beer, sides and snacks to share.

WHUMP HERE IT IS.. WHUMP HERE IT IS.. DOWN TO THE WIRE.. GET YOUR GEAR AND GRUB IN ORDER AND READY TO MOVE OUT!!

Next Weekend JAN 12-14 is THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING.. LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE.. Come out Friday and Saturday Nite or Saturday Nite Only or Sunday Day only for an optional hike let by Lt. John.

Time to gear up Manly Men!  This year we will convene at Arroyo Salado Primitive Camp.  Get your shtuff  (this is not a misspelled word, rather a polite word) together!  Some Manly Men (about 8) will be going out both Friday nite Jan 12 and Saturday nite Jan 13.  Friday night and Saturday AM meals are on your own.  Saturday afternoon/evening beginning at 2pm there will be “La Fiesta” open self serve Taco and Burrito bar.  There will also be a Sunday AM breakfast.  Chip in a little cash to help if you wish!

A map is posted. It is located off of S-2. The relocation was necessitated because the SD Orienteering Club is out there again this year at the place we wanted to go. This years’ theme is “Return to Carrizo Creek- Let the Games Begin”. Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday are being provided. A $10 donation is suggested to cover costs. Two meals for $10- Whoa!! Dinner is Tri-Tip, potato, salad and bread. Bring a side to share if you wish… Breakfast will be prepared for you as well. No sedans, chicks, whiners, wussies or weapons.. Jan. 14-15.. Betta be there .. Don’t ya be unmanly now!! Some Manly Men are going out Friday night (Jan. 13). I will be leading a group out of Donut World in Escondido Jan. 14th – at 675 E. Lincoln Ave. at 0615 Saturday AM. Directions: take 78 E. all the way through Julian, down Banner Grade; make a right on S-2 and proceed through to past Agua Caliente Couty Park and just past mile marker 48. There is a Sign for South Carrizo Creek – Turn Left. Look for the MMTT Sign. If going out I-8 East from San Diego, proceed all the way to Ocotillo – make a left and proceed on S-2 to just past Mile Marker 49 -look for South Carrizo Creek Sign. Make a Right. Look for the MMTT Sign.
